The Rev. Kabala Zacharie Mboyamba of Kananga, Democratic Republic of Congo, will be the keynote speaker. The Rev. Mboyamba is the the Legal Representative of Presbyterian Community of Congo for the former West Kasaï, Katanga, Bandundu, and Kinshasa Provinces and Director of the Department of Mission and the Life of the Church. He is also a pastor of the SNEL congregation in Kananga.
Support and education for youth and young adults in DR Congo, where the median age is 16.7 and unemployment is high, is a stated priority of conference planners from both the DRC and the U.S. They have spotlighted improving employment opportunities, public schools, leadership and entrepreneurship training, technical education, and public health measures for youth and young adults as desired goals.
The planners continue to select speakers and session topics of vital interest in the DRC and US.
Other speakers will include PCUSA mission co-workers Larry and Inge Sthreshley, Jeff and Christi Boyd, and José LaMont Jones.
The churches of the Charleston Atlantic Presbytery are serving as conference hosts. Guests may attend in person or virtually. Registration and schedule details are coming soon!
